Microsoft Excel VBA Professional Projects illustrates and teaches intermediate to advanced techniques in VBA programming using Microsoft's Excel spreadsheet application. It provides an introduction to VBA and Excel VBA before proceeding through four to five programming projects using Excel to illustrate basic and advanced programming techniques. It does notassume any prior knowledge of Excel VBA programming.

The goal of this book is to provide a solid introduction to the VBA programming language and show how it can be applied to create practical applications for Excel. The book is targeted to intermediate and advanced programmers; however, since VBA is arguably the easiest language out there to learn, beginning programmers with a strong Excel background should also be reasonably comfortable with this book.

The book is divided into six parts, with Part I providing an introduction to the VBA language and the Excel object model. Parts II through V each consist of three to four chapters that introduce new concepts, objects, and programming methods in considerable detail. The last chapter in each part illustrates the use of the newly introduced objects and methods in designing a practical application for Excel. Part VI contains three appendixes that provide basic tutorials on Excel, HTML/XHTML, and SQL.
